The Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development – Bulgaria (CEED Bulgaria) continues its active participation in the preparation of the upcoming National Conference under the project “Functionally Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria” (FSMI in Bulgaria), scheduled for September 25, 2025, at Grand Hotel Sofia, both in-person and online.
The event’s program was discussed during the eighth working meeting between representatives of CEED Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). The partners put forward specific proposals aimed at involving the business sector and fostering sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems with the inclusion of citizens from third countries.
Why is this project important?
According to 2022 statistics, over 4.5 million third-country nationals were employed across the EU. However, many sectors in Europe continue to face a growing shortage of qualified labor. This highlights the urgent need for well-structured policies and initiatives to promote legal migration and effective integration of foreign labor into national economies.
The FUMI in Bulgaria project addresses these challenges by implementing actions that:
-
Promote informed decision-making and legal migration;
-
Strengthen cooperation between Bulgaria and non-EU countries, including Moldova, Albania, Ukraine, Armenia, and Vietnam;
-
Support long-term economic sustainability and competitiveness through the attraction of skilled human capital.
