More than 60 third-country nationals of diverse backgrounds and statuses participated in a job fair held in Sofia, organized by the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development (CEED Bulgaria) in partnership with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
The event attracted over 20 Bulgarian companies actively seeking new employees and opportunities to expand their teams.
The forum was opened by BCCI Chairman Tsvetan Simeonov, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the business sector in Bulgaria. He highlighted the need for sustainable solutions to address labor shortages and noted that employing third-country nationals already residing in the country is a faster and more efficient approach.
The event was held within the framework of the project “Functional and Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria” (FUMI), which aims to establish long-term mechanisms for connecting employers with job seekers.
During the program, Stanislav Chervenkov, Deputy Executive Director of CEED Bulgaria, presented the digital platform developed under the project for hiring third-country nationals—a secure, multilingual tool designed to facilitate connections between businesses and candidates.
The legal aspects of integration were addressed by Magdalena Mitova, who provided a detailed overview of the processes related to the economic integration of refugees and migrants in Bulgaria.
Representing the civil sector, Milena Karakanova from Caritas Sofia expressed the organization’s readiness to support future initiatives in this field.
Job seekers participating in the fair included individuals from Ukraine, Syria, Nigeria, Russia, and other countries, while employers presented opportunities across sectors such as construction, manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, and services.
📅 The next job fair under the FSMI project will take place on April 15, 2026, in Varna.
This initiative once again highlights the strong partnership between CEED Bulgaria and BCCI as a driver of sustainable solutions in support of businesses and the socio-economic integration in Bulgaria.
