Partner Meeting under the “FSMI in Bulgaria” Project – Focused on Practical Solutions for Employers

CEED Bulgaria and Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a regular working meeting in February under the project “Functionally Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria” (FSMI in Bulgaria), with a strong focus on practical solutions addressing employers’ needs and the development of the national labor market.

During the meeting, the partners reviewed the outcomes of the regional discussions held in Burgas and Plovdiv, where business representatives shared specific challenges related to workforce shortages and employee retention. These discussions clearly highlighted the need for more effective mechanisms to facilitate access to talent from third countries, while ensuring compliance with the applicable legal framework and good practices.

In response to the strong interest expressed by the business community, CEED Bulgaria is organizing the next regional meeting in Sofia. The event will take place on 26 February at 10:00 a.m. at Grand Hotel Sofia (1 Gen. Gurko St.) and will also be accessible online via Zoom.

During the meeting, participants will be introduced to:

  • the opportunities the project offers to employers;

  • the dedicated platform developed for hiring third-country nationals;

  • practical guidance on procedures and recent legislative changes related to the employment of foreign nationals in Bulgaria.

A key highlight of the agenda will be the presentation by attorney Magdalena Miteva from the Foundation for Access to Rights, who will provide expert insights into the current legal framework and address practical questions regarding its implementation.

CEED Bulgaria continues to actively build bridges between the business community and sustainable labor migration solutions, including through upcoming international events in Albania, Armenia, Vietnam, Moldova, and Ukraine.
