During a visit to Chișinău, representatives of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and CEED Bulgaria – partners in the “Functional and Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria” (FSMI) project – held a working meeting with Natalia Calenic, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova.

During the meeting, the partners presented the main objectives and activities of the FSMI project, the results achieved to date, and opportunities for further cooperation with their Moldovan counterparts.

A key focus of the discussions was the preparation of an online information event to be held in August and aimed at citizens of the Republic of Moldova. The event will present opportunities for employment and professional development in Bulgaria, as well as information on the conditions for starting and developing a business in the country.

Representatives of the three organisations also discussed the importance of cooperation between businesses and institutions in supporting labour market development and promoting legal labour mobility. Key topics included the free movement of people, the exchange of professional experience, and the need for accessible and reliable information on employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in Bulgaria and the European Union.

The discussions also covered opportunities for future joint business-oriented initiatives in Chișinău. These included the upcoming Wine Days in early October and a parallel business forum, which could provide additional opportunities for networking and partnerships between representatives of the Bulgarian and Moldovan business communities.

Special attention was also given to the Republic of Moldova’s preparations for accession to the European Union. In this context, the possibility of BCCI sharing Bulgaria’s experience and good practices was discussed, including the Euroclub meeting format and specialised training programmes for businesses.

The meeting in Chișinău represents another step towards expanding international cooperation within the FSMI project and building sustainable partnerships that support informed labour mobility, professional development, and entrepreneurship.
