On 25 September 2025, the National Round Table “Functionally Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria” took place at the Grand Hotel Sofia, as part of the FUMI project.
The project is implemented in partnership with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the Ministry of Interior and co-funded by the European Union.
Highlights of the event
The round table attracted strong interest and support from key institutions, including:

Participants discussed:

the challenges and opportunities for the Bulgarian labour market;

the first results of the FSMI project;

ideas for sustainable solutions and good practices in support of business and society.
As part of the event, partners from the Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development – Bulgaria (CEED Bulgaria) and BCCI presented an in-depth analysis of a survey among Bulgarian employers regarding their willingness to hire foreign workers.

78% of companies reported a need for additional employees;

almost 64% indicated readiness to hire citizens from third countries.
