International meetings were held in Albania as part of the project “Functional Migration and Integration in Bulgaria.”

Representatives of the partner organizations—the Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development – Bulgaria (CEED Bulgaria) and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI)—conducted a working visit to Albania as part of the project “Functionally Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria” (FSMI in Bulgaria). The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Interior and co-financed by the European Union.

The visit was part of the project’s international information campaign aimed at promoting the online platform developed to connect Bulgarian employers with job candidates from third countries—www.bgjobsportal.com—which facilitates recruitment and hiring processes.

During the visit, meetings were held with representatives of the Bulgarian Embassy in Tirana, local organizations, the business community, and the Bulgarian diaspora. The meetings were opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Albania, Mr. Ivaylo Kirov, who outlined the main challenges related to labor mobility between the two countries.

During the discussions, the teams of CEED Bulgaria and BCCI presented the functionalities of the online platform, as well as the results achieved under the project so far. Emphasis was placed on practical solutions for more effective matching between employers and suitable candidates, as well as on facilitating their integration process in Bulgaria.

Specific opportunities for partnership with local organizations and businesses were also discussed, particularly in sectors such as tourism, construction, transport, and information technology, where there is notable interest among Albanian candidates.

A strong focus was also placed on the role of the Bulgarian diaspora in Albania as a key factor in promoting opportunities for education and employment, as well as in supporting candidates throughout their adaptation process.

As part of the visit, meetings were also held with representatives of Albanian businesses, who expressed interest in future cooperation and participation in the initiative. Further development of partnerships with local institutions is forthcoming, including with the Chamber of Commerce of Albania.

The FSMI project aims to support legal labor migration and successful integration by providing reliable information and effective tools for both employers and job candidates.
