As part of a visit to Chișinău, representatives of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development – Bulgaria (CEED Bulgaria) held a working meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Moldova. The visit took place within the framework of the Functional Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria (FSMI in Bulgaria) project, implemented by CEED Bulgaria in partnership with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
The meeting was attended by Stanislav Chervenkov, Executive Director, and Nivea Radoslavova, Project Manager at CEED Bulgaria, as well as Gabriela Dimitrova, Director of International Cooperation and International Organizations at BCCI. They met with Teodor Savov, Counsellor, and Tihomir Todorov, Consul at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Chișinău.
The discussions focused on the current political situation in the Republic of Moldova, the recent changes in the country’s government, and Moldova’s pro-European orientation. Particular attention was given to opportunities for strengthening legal labour migration and enhancing cooperation between Bulgaria and Moldova.
The participants also discussed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Moldova on Labour Migration Regulation, signed in 2018, which sets out the conditions for employment, seasonal work, and guarantees equal labour rights for workers.
During the meeting, the CEED Bulgaria team presented BGjobsPortal, a platform developed under the project to facilitate access to up-to-date employment opportunities in Bulgaria for foreign job seekers. The platform serves both an informational and intermediary role by providing practical guidance on the documents, administrative procedures, and legal requirements for working in Bulgaria.
The meeting also explored the potential interest of members of the Bulgarian community in Moldova in pursuing professional opportunities in Bulgaria. Representatives of the Embassy highlighted that the branch of Ruse University in Taraclia creates additional opportunities to engage young people of Bulgarian origin within the project’s activities.
The discussion also covered preparations for an upcoming online information event for citizens of the Republic of Moldova, scheduled for August. The event will present employment opportunities in Bulgaria, the most sought-after professions, and the administrative procedures required for legal employment.
The visit to Chișinău formed part of the activities under the FSMI in Bulgaria project, aimed at building sustainable partnerships with institutions and organizations that support the provision of reliable information and employment opportunities for third-country nationals. During the visit, the CEED Bulgaria delegation also held meetings with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, as well as companies specializing in recruitment and human resources management.
